Live Large, Think Big—in Dallas!

Heading south to Fort Worth, TX this June for IPMI, the annual International Parking & Mobility Institute’s Conference & Tradeshow? We say tack on a few days and mosey on over to neighboring Dallas! To help plan your itinerary, we’ve rounded up the city’s must-sees in our latest installment of Enjoy the Ride | CITY SERIES.

WHAT TO SEE IN DALLAS

You’ll feel the vibe as soon as you arrive in this vibrant metropolis of a dozen distinct districts, each with its own cool attractions. From sports to arts to nightlife, the Big D is a city that hits every mark. Here are a few of our top picks.

AT&T Stadium: Go Cowboys!

Football not your thing? You’ll still start cheering along with the infamous cheerleaders as the Cowboys light up their home turf. And expect to be wowed by the sheer size of the AT&T Stadium behemoth, whether you’ve booked a guided tour or are lucky enough to catch a game.

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza: History Lesson

For a sobering look at a tragic moment in American history, head back in time to the Sixth Floor Museum. One of the most visited historic sites in Texas, the museum chronicles the life, death and legacy of JFK, and has been lovingly preserved to resemble its 1960s appearance.

The Dallas Museum of Art: Art Attack

An integral part of the downtown arts district, the DMA counts among its cultural neighbors the Meyerson Symphony Center and Winspear Opera House. Founded in 1903, the innovative and educational space boasts a global collection containing more than 24,000 works of art spanning 5,000 years.

Klyde Warren Park: Urban Oasis

A feat of engineering design, this 5.2-acre park is a virtual oasis in the heart of downtown Dallas. With a playground, dog park, food trucks, and plenty of plants and green space, the sustainable landscape is the ideal spot to take a load off and soak up some rays.

Reunion Tower: Sky High

To enjoy panoramic views of the city and even catch a glimpse of Fort Worth, head over to the Reunion Tower on a clear day. Ride the elevator up to the GeO-Deck, a wide open-floor observation deck, and snap some pics of the breathtaking 360-degree skyline.

WHERE TO DINE IN DALLAS

Everything’s bigger in Texas, baby. And after long days spent discovering the city, you can bet your appetite will be bigger too! From smoky BBQ to haute cuisine, you can find a meal for every craving.

Terry Black’s BBQ: Meat Lovers’ Paradise

Native Terry Black passed down generations of BBQ know-how to his twin sons in the family biz. Mouth-watering feasts include slow-smoked brisket, ribs, and sausage cooked to perfection and mac and cheese that’s divine.

Tacos Mariachi: Hot Tacos

A fave of Food Network’s Guy Fieri, this popular laid-back taco joint serves Tijuana-style street tacos so delicious they’ve been crowned ‘the real deal’. Regulars in the know keep coming back for the pulpa tacos (grilled marinated octopus) and frozen margaritas.

Petra & The Beast: Farm-To-Fork

At this farm-to-table establishment, count on creative cuisine while you support whole animal utilization, fermentation and sustainability. The hyper-seasonal menu is ever-changing but you can always take home the ‘beast’ charcuterie platters loaded with house cured meats and treats.

Mike’s Chicken – Finger Lickin’ Great

The Mike’s Chicken phenomenon started when a young family from Vietnam moved to Dallas and opened a resto inside the laundromat they bought. Now Mike’s offers the tenderest of tenders, half chickens, and plenty of combos, along with sides, biscuits or Texas toast.
