HONK Brings Flexible Parking Payment to Penn State
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA, January 28 2025 – HONK, North America’s leading provider of contactless payments for parking, is excited to announce its recent launch at Penn State’s University Park campus. Students, faculty, staff, and visitors now have greater choice and flexibility in how they pay for parking on campus.
HONK offers drivers a range of payment options:
- HONK App, which can be downloaded on iOS or Google Play for a personalized payment experience.
- Tap to Pay, which works by scanning a QR code on parking signage for instant payment, no account or registration required.
- Text to Pay, where a text of the location code to the number provided enables instant payment via SMS.
Using HONK’s mobile software solutions, drivers can now find and pay for parking with ease. User-friendly features include the ability to select a preferred payment method (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and all major credit cards) and extend a parking session remotely. The new system also eliminates the need for cash, coins, and expensive hardware.
“By expanding the parking payment options on campus, we’re not only making parking more convenient, we’re making the school environment less stressful,” said HONK CEO Michael Back. “A more streamlined parking process frees up the Penn State community to focus on what really matters—their education and the campus activities they enjoy.”
